Beautiful Dolls.... Lovely to look at, Love to collect. There are so many Beutiful dolls around, some in their original condition, some are revamped... and given new life. Silk, Lace, Antique Beads adorn these ladies.

I recently Came across an estate with several of these dolls, Half Dolls and German Bisque Dolls. i Instantly Fell in Love. Some I kept .... some are listed in my shops. if you are interested in seeing the ones listed they are in my shop....

What a Beautiful Morning

We went on Vacation and came back to a dry, dead backyard. Full of plants and trees that were needing some love.

I watered on Wednesday night and Thursday ~ and this morning we woke up to these beautiful bushes just full of purple flowers. We couldn't believe how full they were and ~ well look they are just soooooo dang purple!!! I am not sure of what kind of plant they are but they made me smile this morning. Thank you Mother Nature, Or god, or the backyard hose god..... hehehe

Well I went to a garage sale on Saturday and it was AWESOME!!!

I bought a bunch of old, old, old goodies. The kind that other people want to rip out of your hands, or follow you around waiting for you to put them down. But Sorry I am not the type to let something go!!!

anyways... I thought I would post a picture.

I still have to take more pictures of my goodies.

I got another little doll a composition doll ~ shes seems to be made of a plastery cardboard or something ~ I have to figure out how to take some pictures of her ~ shes alllllll broken apart ~ her legs are off and her arms are off and her heads off. she was dressed in a old hand crochet dress so cute!!!

I also got a ton of old, old 1920 and 1930 good house keeping magazines, and "The american" two of them have handpainted indian sketches on the covers. I love indian stuff!!!

the good house keeping magazines all have campbell soup like kids on the covers, and retro pinup type girls.

I got a handful of old tomato and strawberry silk pin cushions, I think I am gonna hold on to them though.

A Good Book

I am reading a book : Woman of a Thousand Secrets

its really, really good ~ I am just a little past the half way mark ~ I haven't read a book in a long time. My mom brought it with her when she came to visit and I picked it up on saturday while laying out in the sun. It was nice to lay in the sun and read. I managed to get a little tan too. (just a little)

Project in the Works

I know, I know........ Where have I been? Busy, and Even More Busier than usual. With my brother, nephew and parents visiting. And just daily life sometimes I cant even find 5 minutes to just say hi to all my followers. (like theres a ton!)

Well, I have been working on a project, Not done with it but itsssssss almost done. Just gotta add a little more to it.

I got a painting in Santa Barbara along time ago ~ real pretty lake scene with swans. Not really my cup of tea, but for some reason me and my mom fell in love with it. In fact its hanging up in her spare room. It was in a pretty frame off white with gold accents ~ solid wood and it had scroll detail on the frame edge. Well I brought the frame with me when I moved to vegas.

I had the frame on the wall with all my Vintage Rhinestone Initial pins ~ my mom took some card board and covered it with black velvet to show them off.

I went to a yard sale one Friday (yep, here they have yard sales friday, saturday and sundays!!! heaven) and found the exact same frame but only smaller. For One Dollar~ who could pass that up? Not me!

I bought it home and decide ~ Both frames need some "jazzin' up!" sooooo, my project is doing exactly that.

Well, My mom reminded me I had to update my Blog.... she was sick of seeing my "I have a headache" which is pretty funny because.... I still have a headache!!!

I can't believe its already February 2009!!!!! Man time flies!!!!

Our christmas was good, cold, and snowy which was really cool for having our first christmas in our new house and having snow in Vegas!!

kids got everything they wanted! little brats!

I cleaned up my craft room a little, then totally messed it up again... there is only a walking space from the door to the computer. (so embarassed!)

I am slllllllllllllowly going through some of my vintage jewelry and bits and pieces. I got stuck playing with a bunch of rhinestone jewelry pieces I had in a huge tin.

I have to clean up my project room and really really follow through with it. (Gulp!!! big project)

Headache!

Snow... In Vegas?

Wow... snow in Vegas! And alot of it! its my first Christmas here, away from friends and family. Out of california. I was running errands, and I ran inside a store and a lady said "What do you think of that snow?" " Snow????"

It came down steady for hours ~ Tricia, my daughter and I played in the snow for about an hour. I couldn't get my son, the 18 year old outside for anything. I guess hes to grown up.

We built alot of snowmen..... and I had to build a Snow woman (with boobies) !!!

It was so fun!

We made snow angels...... hers was so cute and small. Mine of course had a big butt, It runs in the family. Hehehe

We had so much fun,We stayed outside and played for about an hour. Later we went outside for about another hour we got my boyfriend to come play with us. We had a snow ball fight, but his snow balls sucked~ he made it a point to nail us!!!

You know guys, they get so serious when it comes to any game or competition.

I was just so happy to see snow ~ it was our first time experiencing snow.

The plan is to play in the snow again today and to do crafts!!! What fun!!!

Christmas in Vegas

I wanted to show off my Vintage Lucite Christmas tree. It is put together piece by piece ~ each branch get put on the long green shaft and since It didnt come with the orginal bottom base. I asked my neighbor the ever so handy Mr. Dunne to make me something and he came up with a lil wooden round base. Perfect!!!! It had some fo the original ornaments and of course with my moms and my luck we found more at garage sales here and there. The whole tree is loaded up with little shiney brite minis.

The light from our large picture window hits it and really shows off the lil tree.

The little putz houses are a garage sale find too! I got those in their original box and they are in mint condition. I just love them!!

And last but not least...... my little santa. He is so cute hes made from old spun cotton and a little pinecone body. I put him under a glass dome and added a really ornate black wooden stand and all were garage sale finds.

Christmas Morning Ornament

It only took me about a year to make this... Geez talk about lagging.

I think its all about waiting for the perfect pieces. I still dont know if thats it or if it needs something else. But I had to stop and let it go ~ on to the next piece.

I used an old silver Napier Measuring cup ~ I loved it from the moment I saw it!!!!!!!!

I didnt want it for the kitchen, but for a ornament. Crazy? Nope, Crafty Yes!

Saturday Fun

Well Today I did a little garage~salein' (had to go with my boyfriend) we went to a couple here in Vegas ~ I have only been here a couple of weeks so I dont know the area that well.

I went to one sale that was an older lady who lived with her parents ~ tons of sea shells and really old bottles.

I think I am going to revamp them ~ make them into something really pretty ~ they were old whiskey bottles and pain bottle liquid medicine bottles. Wow they are cool!!!!

When I finish making one I will post the pictures.

posted a new christmas ornament today on Etsy ~ I started it about a year ago, man it took me a whole year............. I have to promise myself to finish projects...... hehe

Wow ~ What a Month I moved recently to Vegas from Santa Barbara California. My parents were AWESOME and bought me a House. My first House, My first time out of California. Big, Big step. I still haven't unpacked ~ and I have tons of Boxes. But the house is coming along slowly.

I have my own project room though!!!!!!!! and I filled it up quick ~ Real Quick with all my Jewelry, Vintage Clothing and Beads. Wow I was amazed how much stuff I had. My boyfriend was shocked, me AMAZED!

My Mom is always, always getting great deals at thrift stores and yard sales. How does she do it? Must be her Red Hair. Seriously, she get the most awesome~est things, old, really old, stuff I just want to take from her. Slthough if I ever want it, she gives it to me. Shes a great Mom.

She has a ETSY shop too. I started it for her, and now that I moved she has to learn to do it alllllll by herself. she will get the hang of it. I can't wait to see what she puts up. She just listed some awesome old fabric the other day, and I had to tell her "HEY thats way too cheap!" hehehe

I just added some awesome new jewelry pieces to my ETSY shop

Including my lil "RODEO QUEEN" Spoon bracelet. My tribute to the cowgirl in all of us.

My Honey helped me make it, 6 spoons were harmed in the making. But it was for a good cause. There are 3 dangle charms a Vintage Silver Spur which actually moves, a really old glass bubble charm of a adorable horse, and a chunky teardroped shaped Turquoise nugget.

I started making jewelry years ago, i sold it locally to high end boutiques here in Santa Babara and Montecito. I loved it but wanted more exposure. I love to make jewelry out of pre-loved vintage jewelry pieces. Alot of my jewelry is made from pieces I have been hording for years. Some saved from my mothers jewlery box, some from a great, great aunt.

I see beauty in pre loved jewelry and hope you do as well.
